Ghetto Classics Charity Golf Tournament at Migaa Golf Club
Her Excellency former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has lauded the transformative
power of art and music in empowering young people and strengthening communities, citing
Ghetto Classics as a remarkable example of how talent, when nurtured through support and
opportunity, can create lasting change.
Speaking during the Ghetto Classics Charity Golf Tournament held at Migaa Golf Club, where she attended as the Guest of Honour and Patron of the Art of Music Foundation, Margaret Kenyatta praised the programme’s 18 year journey of impacting lives through music education, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities. She noted that Ghetto Classics has reached more than 1,500 young people across Kenya, equipping them with valuable life skills and pathways to brighter futures.
The tournament, organized by M-Vocha in partnership with Migaa Golf Club and the Art of Music foundation, brought together golfers, corporate sponsors and other stakeholders who rallied behind the programme’s mission of empowering children and youth from disadvantaged communities through music and personal development. The well attended event underscored the growing commitment of both the private sector and individuals to investing in young talent and expanding access to the arts.
Funds raised during the tournament will go towards supporting Ghetto Classics’ ongoing programmes and expanding its reach to even more young people. Following the success of this year’s event, organizers announced that the next edition of the Ghetto Classics Charity Golf Tournament will be held in June next year, with plans to bring together even more partners and supporters in advancing the programme’s impactful mission.
